About Room in the Garden
Room in the Garden units are designed to suit the particular needs of the customer, from its intended use to correctly utilizing the available space in your garden.
These units can be used as office space, gym space, entertainment areas and children’s recreational space.
Depending on site access and unit dimensions, your garden room can be lifted as a complete unit onto a pre prepared base.
There is a choice of finishes for the exterior
(a) is Canadian cedar wood on the sheltered area under canopy and a rendered finish on the exposed walls.
(b) is a render finish to all walls .
The above finishes can be adjusted to the type of structure ordered and exposure to weathering.
The windows and doors are A rated value which along with the polyurethane insulation used throughout the structure, slows down thermal transmittance and heat loss, to achieve a low U value.
The floor and building support joists are of galvanized steel so the customer has no fear of any potential deterioration in the subfloor over time due to any moisture ingress or dry rot. Insulated concrete floor slab is also offered as an option, based on customer preference and priced to the individual site .
This method of construction while costing more initially is far superior to the use of treated timber subfloor joists.
The insulation used in all elements of the unit is 100mm polyurethane in the floor and ceiling cavity with 80mm polyurethane rigid batten insulation in the wall cavities.
Electrical output points and internet points, numbers and location sited to suit customer needs.
The external roof surface is GRP fibre glass which is accepted as the lead standard in flat roof finish currently.
The walls and ceilings internally are a smooth plaster skim ready for decoration.
